Santiago de Chile

Founded in 1541, by the Mapocho River, situated in the fertile Central Valley at 543 m., with a population of 5 million. We visit the Cathedral, Cerro San Cristobal from where we view the city, Precolumbian Museum, the residential area of Providencia. Close to Santiago the traveller has the opportunity to head towards the Pacific coast, stopping en route at several places to look for such elusive birds as Chilean Tinamou. At El Algarrobo we will concentrate on sea birds such as Humbolt Penguins. Or drive up to the mighty Andes in search of the Andean Condor.
